Glass of Morag Gordon
Morag Gordon: Glass Casting
Since setting up my first studio in 1985 I have worked with glass in many different ways. Working with blown forms, windows and sculptural pieces.
What has not changed is my use of figurative imagery.
I am always looking at the tension between a gaze, or a stretched out hand.
The human condition how we act/interact with each other. We reach out, touching, not touching. Sometimes this seems very personal, and yet could be a reflection of anyone’s life.
My bowl forms, are etched and sandblasted, through the layers of colour.
The sculptural pieces, are sandcast and ground polished, and assembled with other materials. Slate, wood, sand and velvet.
